The Balearic Islands are a Spanish archipelago located in the Mediterranean Sea, off the east coast of the Iberian Peninsula. They consist mainly of four main islands: Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera, as well as several smaller islets. Their capital and most populous city is Palma, located on Mallorca, which is the center of much of the region's economic and cultural activity. The archipelago enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, making it a popular tourist destination year-round.
